Urner, Clarence H
educator, public official, poet, was born April 13, 1856, in New Market, Va. After receiving a thorough education at the New Market Polytechnic institute he began educational work, and for fifteen years was successfully engaged in that profession. He has been clerk in the treasury department of Virginia, and is prominent in the public affairs of that state. He is the author of a number of poems of merit which have appeared in the leading magazines, in Poets of America, and other standard works.
