Tillson, Davis

soldier, state legislator, was born April 14, 1830, in Rockland, Maine. In 1857 he was elected to the Maine state legislature; and in 1887 became adjutant-general of the state. He served with distinction through the civil war in the artillery, and in 1865 had command of the district of east Tennessee. TILTON, BENJAMIN TROWBRIDGE, physician, author, was born in 1868 in Rhode Island. He is a physician of New York city who has translated Die Specielle Chirurgie, in two volumes; and Allgemeine Chirurgie from the German of Tillmanns.
