Tillman, James Hammond

lawyer, legislator, the son of Hon. George G. Tillman, a one time member of congress, was born June 27, 1869, in Edgefield county, S. C. He received his education in the Curryton academy; the Virginia Military institute; the Emerson institute of Washington, D. C.; and the Georgetown University Law school. He is one of the foremost lawyers of South Carolina; has served with distinction as state senator in the South Carolina legislature; is brigadier-general of the South Carolina volunteer troops; and takes a prominent part in public affairs.
