Tichenor, Isaac

soldier, lawyer, jurist, United States senator, governor, was born Feb. 8, 1754, in Newark, N. J.

He was an officer of the revolution; and was a judge and chief justice of the supreme court of Vermont. He was a representative in the state legislature, and was a senator in congress during the sessions of 1796 and 1797. He was governor of Vermont from 1798 to 1800, and was again in the senate from 1815 to 1821. He died Dec. 11, 1838, in Bennington, Vt.
