Tenney, Samuel
soldier, physician, lawyer, jurist, congressman, was born Nov. 27, 1748, in Byfield, Mass. He was present at the battle of Bunker Hill, where he was employed in attending upon the wounded. He was attached to the Rhode Island line of the provincial army, and served during the whole war. For many years he was judge of probate in Exeter, N. H. In 1800 he was elected a representative from that state in the congress of the United States. He died Feb. 6, 1816, in Exeter, N. H.
