clergyman, author, was born Feb. 11, 1815, in East Windsor, Conn. He was a congregational clergyman who was secretary of the American College and Education society in 1851-84. He was the author of Winnie and Walter Stories; When I Was a Boy; Nineveh, or the Buried City; Uncle George's Stories; Journeys and Labors of St. Paul; Life of General Israel Putnam; Sir Walter Raleigh and His Colony in America; and Songs and Hymns for Common Life.
