Stewart, William M
educator,. was born Sept. 5, 1859, in Draper, Utah.
He received the rudiments of his education in the public schools, and graduated from the state university of Utah, subsequently receiving the degree of master of didactics. He then began educational. work, and was elected superintendent of schools in Salt Lake county in 1885, receiving the re-election twice. He has served as regent of the university for three terms; and is now principal of the state normal school and professor of pedagogy in the state university. He has taken an active part in educational affairs, and in 1887 attended the National Educational association held in Chicago, and. was elected director of the Educational association for Utah; and the following. year attended the convention of the National Educational association in San Francisco.
