Sprague, Peleg
lawyer, jurist, congressman, United States senator, author, was born April 27, 1793, in Duxbury, Mass. He was a member of the Maine legislature in 1821 and 1822; and was a representative in congress from Maine from 1825 to 1829. He was a senator in -congress from 1829 to 1835. In 1841 he was appointed judge of the district court of the United States for Massachusetts; and in 1841 was also a presidential elector. He was the author of Speeches and Addresses; and Decisions in Admiralty and Maritime Cases. He died Oct. 13, 1880, in Boston, Mass.
