Sapp, William Fletcher

soldier, lawyer, state legislator, congressman, was born Nov. 20, 1824, in Danville, Ohio. In 1860 he removed to Nebraska; and in 1861 was appointed adjutant-general of Nebraska territory, and subsequently elected to the territorial legislature. He served in the union army as lieutenantcolonel. He moved to Iowa; and was a state representative in 1865. He was United States district attorney from 1869 to 1873. He was elected a representative from Iowa to the forty-fifth congress; was re-elected to the forty-sixth congress as a republican.
