Ritan, Ole A

lumberman, merchant, was born Feb. 16, 1849, in Norway. In 1867 he emigrated to the United States, a and in 1874 located in Wisconsin. Four years later he established general store in Cumberland, Wis., the first one built on the island.

He has attained success in business, and has taken an active part in the public affairs of his city and county. He was one of the first board of aldermen when the city was organized, and was previously president of the village council.
