Richardson, James Daniel

soldier, lawyer, state senator, congressman, was born March 10, 1843, in Rutherford county, Tenn. In 1870 he was elected a representative in the Tennessee state legislature, and was elected speaker on the first day of the session. In 1872 he was elected state senator and served two years, and in 1873, when thirty years of age, was made grand master of Masons for the state of Tennessee. He also became grand high priest of the grand chapter of the state.. In 1884 he was elected a representative from Tennessee to the forty-ninth, fiftieth, fifty-first, fifty-second, fifty-third, fifty-fourth and fifty-fifth congresses as a democrat.
