Powell, D. Frank

physician, surgeon, scientist, was born May 25, 1847, in Sullivan county, N. Y. He received the rudiments of his education in the common district schools; at the Columbia college; the Louisville Medical college; and the Kentucky School of Medicine. He is a prominent physician and surgeon of La Crosse, Wis.; has served four times as mayor of that city; has twice been an independent candidate for governor of Wisconsin; and twice a candidate for congress from the seventh congressional district on the people's party ticket. He is a scientist of note, and an investigator of prehistoric and aboriginal race history.
