Pitcher, Nathaniel
state legislator, congressman, governor, was born in 1777 in Litchfield, Conn. He was a member of the New York legislature in 1806, 1815, 1816, and 1817; and was a delegate to the state constitutional convention of 1821. In 1828 he was lieutenantgovernor and acting governor of the state; and was subsequently commissioner to survey the state roads. He was representative in congress from New York from 1819 to 1823, and again from 1831 to 1833. He died May 25, 1836, in Sandy Hill, N. Y.
