Pindar, John S
lawyer, jurist, congressman, was born Nov. 18, 1835, in Sharon, N. Y. In 1868 he was elected the first police justice of the village of Cobleskill, N. Y. In 1872 he was elected trustee of the village, in which position he continued to serve until 1882, when he was elected president of the village; and was annually twice re-elected. In 1884 he was elected a representative from New York to the forty-ninth congress; and was re-elected to fill a vacancy in the fifty-first congress.
