Pickler, John A
soldier, lawyer, state legislator, congressman, was born Jan. 24, 1844, near Salem, Ind. He removed to Muscatine, Iowa, in 1874; and was a Garfield elector, second district of Iowa, in 1880. He was elected to the Iowa legislature in 1881. He moved to Dakota in 1883, and was elected to the Dakota legislature in 1884, and appointed inspector in public-land service in interior department in 1889. He was elected to the fifty-first, fifty-second, and fifty-third congresses and re-elected to the fiftyfourth congress as a republican.
