Perkins, William Young

farmer, mine owner, legislator, was born March 8, 1849, in Grayson county, Va. In 1866 he moved to Texas, and there served two years in the ranger service against the Comanche Indians. In 1877 he was a member of the famous Virginia state convention. In 1887 he moved to Idaho, where he is a successful farmer and miner at Soldier. In 1889 he was elected to the territorial legislature; to the Idaho state legislature in 1890-97; and took an important part in the deliberations of that body. He has been a member of nearly every territorial and state convention in Idaho since 1888.
