Pattison, T. Harwood

clergyman, educator, lecturer, author, was born Dec. 14, 1838, in Launceston, Cornwall, England. After graduating he took part in the political liberal movement in the north of England, and published his work entitled Present Day Lectures. In 1874 he traveled in the United States, and accepted a call to the First Baptist church of New Haven, Conn.; and thence was called to the Emmanuel church of Albany, N. Y. In 1881 he accepted the chair of homiletics and pastoral theology in the Rochester Theological seminary; and in 1.895 published The History of the English Bible; which was followed by other works.
