Nicholls, John C

soldier, lawyer, born state senator, congressman, was April 25, 1834, in Clinton, Ga. He served in the confederate army throughout the war; was a member of the state constitutional convention of 1865, and was a presidential elector in 1868. He was elected to the state senate in 1870 and served five years, and was a delegate to the democratic national convention in 1876.

He was elected a representative from Georgia to the forty-sixth congress, and was also elected to the forty-eighth congress as a democrat.
