Nelson, William (Lawyer state senator)

lawyer, state senator, congressman, was born June 29, 1784, in Clinton , N. Y. He was a district attorney for the counties of Westchester, Putnam and Rockland, for a period of thirty years. He was a member of the assembly of New York in 1819 and 1820; and a state senator in 1823. He was a representative in congress from New York from 1847 to 1851. He died Oct. 2, 1869, in Peekskill, N. Y.
