Murray, William Vans

lawyer, state legislator, congressman, author, was born in 1762, in Cambridge, Md. He was legislature; and in 1791 was elected a repsoon elected to a seat in the Maryland resentative in congress, and continued in that position until 1797, when he declined being a candidate. He was appointed minister to the Netherlands; and in connegotiated a treaty with France in 1800. nection with Mr. Ellsworth and Mr. Davie, He was the author of a treatise on The Constitution and Laws of the United States. He died Dec. 11, 1803, in Cambridge, Md.
