Morse, Freeman H
state legislator, congressman, was born Feb. 18, 1807, in Bath, Maine. He was in the Maine legislature from 1840 to 1844, and also in 1853 and 1856; and was mayor of Bath for three years. He was elected to congress in 1843, serving one term; and was elected a representative to the thirtyfifth congress from Maine; and was reelected to the thirty-sixth congress. He was a member of the peace congress of 1861; and was appointed by President Lincoln consul at London.
