Morrow, Jeremiah
state legislator, congressman, United States senator, was born Oct. 6, 1771, in Gettysburg, Pa. He was chosen a member of the territorial legislature in 1800; and was the first representative in congress from Ohio, serving from 1803 to 1813. He was a senator in congress from 1813 to 1819; and in 1814 was appointed a commissioner to treat with the Indians. In 1821 he was a presidential elector; and was governor of Ohio from 1822 to 1826. He was elected to congress in 1840 to fill a vacancy and served until 1843. He died March 22, 1852, in Warren county.
