Merrill, Stephen Mason

bishop, author, was born Sept. 16, 1825, in Jefferson county, Ohio. He is a methodist bishop in Ohio; and the author of Christian Baptism; New Testament Idea of Hell; The Second Coming of Christ; Aspects of Christian Experience; Digest of Methodist Law; Outlines of Thought on Probation; and Mary of Nazareth and Her Family.

MERRILL, WILLIAM BRADFORD, journalist, was born Feb. 27, 1861, in Salisbury, N. H. In 1891 he became managing editor of The New York Press, which position he still holds.
