Mclaurin, John Loundes

lawyer, legislator, congressman, was born May 9, 1860, in Red Bluff, S. C. In 1890 he was elected to the general assembly of South Carolina; and was elected attorney-general of that state the following year. He was elected to the fifty-second, fifty-third, and fifty-fourth congresses, and re-elected to the fifty-fifth congress as a democrat; and has served on numerous important committees. He takes a deep interest in the material development of the south; and his speeches on the subject have given him a national reputation.
