Mead, Edwin Doak
lecturer, author, was born Sept. 29, 1849, in Chesterfield, N.
H. He is a Boston writer and lecturer upon social and historical topics, and editor of the New England Magazine. He is the author of Martin Luther: a Study of the Reformation; The Philosophy of Carlyle; and The Roman Church and the Public Schools.
MEAD, ELIZABETH STORRS BILL- INGS, college president, was born about 1835, in Conway, Mass. In 1890 she was elected president of Mount Holyoke college, which position she still holds.
