Mclaurin, Anselm Joseph

lawyer, legislator, United States senator, was born March 26, 1848, in Brandon, Miss.

He was elected district attorney for the fifth district at Raleigh, Miss.; and moved to Brandon in 1876, after four years' service as district attorney. He was elected to represent Rankin county in the legislature in 1879; was chosen presidential elector for the state at large in 1888; and was elected to the constitutional convention in 1890.
