Mckee, George Colin

soldier, lawyer, congressman, was born Oct. 2, 1836, in Joliet, Ill. He was elected attorney of Centralia, Ill., and practiced law. He was ordered as brigadier-general to enroll and equip four regiments of militia. He was a member of the constitutional convention of Mississippi. He was elected to the fortieth congress, but the state was refused admission; and was re-elected to the forty-first, forty-second and fortythird congresses from Mississippi. He died Nov. 17, 1890, in Jackson, Miss. con- McKEE, JOHN, public official, congressman, was born in Rockbridge county, Va. He was a representative in congress from that state from 1823 to 1829.
