Mceniry, Matthew J
lawyer, politician, was born April 9, 1858, in Zuma township, near Moline, Ill. He received his education in the public schools, St.
John's college, Notre Dame university, and the State university of Michigan. Since 1882 he has continuously been a member of the democratic committee, and a delegate to nearly every state convention of his party since 1884. He has taken an active interest in politics and has attained success as a platform speak- Since 1888 he has practiced law with success in Moline, Ill., and since 1894 has been postmaster of that city. er.
