Maxson, Frederick
musician, composer, was born June 13, 1862, in Beverly, N. J. Since 1884 he has been organist and choir master of the Central congregational church of Philadelphia, Pa. He is the author of a considerable number of church services. MAXWELL, AUGUSTUS EMMETT, railroad president, lawyer, state senator, congressman, was born Sept. 21, 1820, in Elberton, Ga. In 1847 he was elected to the assembly of Florida; was secretary of state in 1848; a state senator in 1849; and was a member of congress from 1853 to 1857. In 1866 he was appointed president of the Pensacola and Montgomery railroad.
