Marshall, George Alpheus

educator, lawyer, was born Feb. 17, 1836, in Northumberland, N. H. After receiving liberal education in the common and grammar schools, he attended the university of Vermont, and received the degrees of A. B. and A. M.

He has been county superintendent of schools; district attorney; is prominent in several fraternal orders; and has taken an active part in the public affairs of his county and state. He has written numerous magazine articles for the periodical press; and since 1867 has practiced his profession in Darlington, Wis. He has made a complete abstract of titles of his county, and is the proprietor of the La Fayette County Abstract company.
