Kyle, John Curtis

mayor, state senator, congressman, was born in Sardis, Miss. In 1879 he was elected mayor of Sardis, Miss.; in 1881 was elected to the state senate; and at the close of the senatorial term was elected a member of the Mississippi railroad commission by joint ballot of the two branches of the legislature; and was re-elected in 1888.

He was chairman of the state democratic executive committee in 1888; and was elected to the fifty-second and fifty-third congresses and re-elected to the fiftyfourth congress as a democrat.
