Keyes, Emerson Willard

lawyer, author, was born June 30, 1828, in Jamestown, N. Y. He has been superintendent of public instruction in the state of New York; superintendent of bank department, state of New York; and has filled numerous public positions of honor in the city of Brooklyn and the state of New York. He is a successful lawyer, and the author of Keyes' Court of Appeals Reports, in four volumes; History of Savings Banks in the United States, in two volumes; Code of Public Instruction; Principles of Civil Government in the State of New York; and sundry pamphlets, addresses, legislative reports, and various valuable papers.
