Ketcham, John H
soldier, state senator, congressman, was born Dec. 31, 1831, in Dover, N. Y. He was a member of the assembly in 1856 and 1857; and of the state senate in 1860 and 1861. In 1862 he entered the military service, and as colonel of the one hundred and fiftieth New York volunteers served until 1865, when he was made a brigadier-general by brevet. He was elected a representative from New York to the thirty-ninth congress; and was re-elected to the fortieth, forty-first, forty-second, forty-fifth, forty-sixth, fortyseventh, forty-eighth, forty-ninth, fiftieth, fifty-first, fifty-second and fifty-fifth congresses as a republican.
