Kelly, Eugene
merchant, banker, was born Nov. 25, 1806, in Ireland. In 1861 Mr. Kelly founded in San Francisco the banking house of Donohoe, Ralston and Co., and in New York the banking house of Eugene Kelly and Co. In 1864 Mr. Ralston retired, and, associating himself with D. O.
Mills, subsequently became one of the leading financiers of the West. The San Francisco bank then took the name of Donohoe, Kelly and Co., Mr. Donohoe managing partner, and so continued until 1891, when the partners incorporated as a joint stock company under the title of the Donohoe-Kelly Banking Co. He died Dec. 19, 1894, in Ireland.
