Jewett, Thomas L

railroad president, was born about 1810 in Maryland. He was at one time a judge in a state court, but became interested in the construction of the Pan-Handle railroad, and was chosen its president. He died in November, 1875, in New York city.

JEWETT, WILLIAM ORRINGTON LUNT, soldier, lawyer, legislator, was born Dec. 26, 1836, in Maine. He served in the civil war and has been prosecuting attorney of Shelby county, Mo., for two terms; and for two terms was a representative in the Missouri state legislature.
