Jackson, John J
lawyer, jurist, congressman, was born Aug. 4, 1824, in Parkersburg, Va. He was prosecuting attorney for the county of Wirt, Va., from 1848 to 1854; and held the same position in the county of Ritcnie from 1850 to 1852. In 1851 he was elected a representative in the legislature of Virginia for a term of two years; and was re-elected in 1853. In 1861 he was appointed judge of the United States district court for the western district of Virginia, now the district of West Virginia.
