Hooper, Lucy
author, poet, was born Feb. 4, 1816, in Newburyport, Mass. She was a poet of much promise whose home in Brooklyn, and the author of Scenes from Real Life, a collection of prose sketches, which appeared during her lifetime, and her complete poems in 1848.
HOOPER, MRS. LUCY HAMILTON (JONES), author, poet, was born Jan. 20, 1835, in Philadelphia, Pa. She was a Philadelphia author who lived in Europe after 1870, and was Paris correspondent for several American papers, and the author of Poems, with translations from the German; Under the Tri-Color, a novel; and The Tsar's Window, a novel.
