Hicks, Henry George
soldier, lawyer, jurist, state legislator, was born Jan. 26, 1838, in Varysburg , N. Y. In 1861 he enlisted as a private in company A, second Illinois regiment, and attained the rank of sergeant-major, and adjutant of the regiment. He was elected to the Minnesota state legislature in 1877, serving four consecutive terms. In 1887 he was appointed judge of the fourth district, and served until 1895. In 1897-98 he again served with distinction in the state legislature.
