Hawkins, Micajah Thomas

congressman, was born in 1790 in Warren county, N. C. He entered public life in 1819 as a member of the house of commons of North Carolina; and was a member of the state senate from 1823 to 1827. He was a representative in congress from North Carolina from 1831 to 1841, and served again in the state senate in 1846.

He was also at one time a general of militia. He died Dec. 22, 1858, in Warren county, N. C.
