He established the coasting trade between Boston and Albany in 1788, and in , and in 1808 had built the sloop Ten Sisters, which was long the favorite packet sailing besailing between New York and Boston. HALLETT, BENJAMIN FRANKLIN, journalist, statesman, lawyer, author , was born Dec. 2, 1797, in Barnstable, Mass. He , Mass. He exerted a powerful influence in the demothe democratic party, was a delegate to most of its national conventions, and was for many years chairman of its national comnational committee. He aided in the nomination of Franklin Pierce, who made him United States district attorney of Massachusetts .
