Hall, Samuel Read
educator, author, was born Oct. 27, 1795, in Croydon, N. H. He was an educator of Vermont who organized the first training-school for teachers in the United States. He was the author of The Instructor's Manual; Lectures on Education; and Geography for Children.
He died June 24, 1877, in Bennington, Vt.
HALL, MRS. SARAH (EWING), author, was born Oct. 30, 1761, in Philadelphia, Pa. She was a Philadelphia writer well known at one time as the author of Conversations on the Bible. Selections from her work were published in 1833. She died April 8, 1830, in Philadelphia, Pa.
