soldier, journalist, was born May 6, 1845, in Ireland, Ind. He served as a union soldier during the civil war in company G, forty-second regiment Indiana volunteer infantry. He was with Sherman from Chattanooga to Atlanta, and from Fayetteville to Washington, D. C.; and thence to Louisville, Ky. He also served two years in the Indiana state militia. He has served as postmaster of Duff, Ind.; is a prominent member of the Grand Army of the Republic; and the editor and owner of the Banner of Lutesville, Mo.
