Francis, Orin W

lawyer, business man, legislator, was born Jan. 14, 1848, in Lewis county, N. Y. He received a thorough education and graduated from the high school of Faribault, Minn. He is a successful lawyer and real estate dealer of Fargo, N. D. He served with distinction as a member of the legislature of North Dakota in 1896-97, and was chairman of the judiciary committee. He was president of the first board of trustees of the North Dakota Agricultural college, and has held several public positions of honor. He received the second highest number of votes in the republican legislative caucus for United States senator in January, 1897.
