Fay, Theodore Sedgewick

journalist, diplomat, author, was born Feb. 10, 1807, in New York. He is a writer who belongs to the generation of literary New Yorkers which included Halleck, Willis, and Bryant.

He was secretary of legation at Berlin, 1837-53, minister to Switzerland 1853-61.

He has since lived in Berlin.

The novel Norman Leslie is his best known work.
