Fearing, Paul

lawyer, jurist, congresman, was born Feb. 28, 1762, in Wareham, Mass. He was appointed United States attorney for Washington county, Ohio territory; and in 1797 was appointed judge of probate for his county.

He was a member of the first legislative council of Ohio in 1799, and in 1801 was chosen a delegate to congress, serving until 1803. In 1814 he was appointed master commissioner in chancery, and from 1810 to 1817 was judge in one of the state courts. He died Aug. 21, 1822.
