Faulkner, Charles James (Born about in Martinsburg W Va)

was born about 1806, in Martinsburg, W. Va.

In 1841 he was elected to the senate of Virginia, and in 1848 was elected to the house of delegates. In 1850 he was a member of the convention formed to revise the constitution of the state. In 1851、 he was elected a representative in congress; and was re-elected to four successive congresses. In the civil war he acted as chief of staff for General Stonewall Jackson, and wrote all his reports and dispatches; and in 1872 was a member of the convention to frame a constitution for West Virginia. He was also elected to the forty-fourth congress. He died Nov. 1, 1884, in Boydville, W. Va.
