Farmer, Luther M
educator, lawyer, legislator, was born Dec. 31, 1856, in Coneta county, Ga. In 1883 he graduated from the university of Georgia, and then became principal of schools; and in 1885-86 was professor in the Howard college of Marion, Ala. He then moved to Newman, Ga., was admitted to the bar, and has since practiced his profession with success in that city. He was president of the board of education until 1894; when he resigned that position to become a member of the general assembly of Georgia. While a member of the legislature, he was the author of the school bill under which public schools of Georgia are now conducted.
