Ellenbecker, John G

educator, college president, poet, was born Jan. 29, 1869, in Hancock, Mich. When two years of age his parents moved to Kansas, where he was educated, and graduated from the Marysville High school in 1888.

He taught school for awhile, and subsequently graduated from the scientific class of the Kansas Normal college, with the degree of B. S.; subsequently receiving the degree of B. A. He organized the Modern Normal college of Marysville, kan., of which institution he is president.

Some of his poems appear in Poets of America, and other standard works.
