Eldredge, Nathaniel B
physician, lawyer, congressman, was born March 28, 1813, in Auburn, N. Y. He was a state senator of Michigan in 1848; and judge of probate from 1852 to 1856. In 1861 he raised a company of volunteers and joined the seventh Michigan infantry; and became a lieutenant-colonel in 1862.
In 1865 he removed to Adrian, Mich., and was elected mayor in 1870. In 1874 he was elected sheriff of Lenawee county; and was elected a representative from Michigan to the forty-eighth congress; and was re-elected to the forty-ninth congress as a democrat.
