Diller, Joseph Silas

educator, geologist, author, was born Aug. 27, 1850, in Plainfield, Pa. In 1883 he became assistant geologist on the United States geological survey, and in that capacity has traveled extensively throughout the United States. He is the author of Notes on the Geology of the Troad; Diamonds in the United States; and Notes on the Geology of Northern California.

DILLINGHAM, FRED AUGUSTINE, clergyman, author, was born Jan. 27, 1851, in Auburn, Maine. He is a distinguished clergyman of New England; fills a pastorate in Bridgeport, Conn.; and is the author of a work entitled Life of Jesus.
